MATCOR, Inc. is one of the nation’s leading firms for cathodic protection field services. MATCOR has an open position for a Technical Project Manager. The Technical Project Manager will manage a large number of technical projects from Engineering designs to pipeline close-interval surveys.

The position will report directly to the General Manager – Technical Services Group. The position can report to a MATCOR Office or can be a fully remote position for the right candidate. Preference will be given to candidates able to report to MATCOR office located in Guthrie, OK.

Schedule : Monday-Friday (weekend availability required)

Job Type: Full-time, benefits eligible

Salary: $80-110K (Depending on experience)

Location: Guthrie,OK (or surrounding area)

Responsibilities

  • Read project documents and contracts to understand project requirements.
  • Create and submit project setup documents for our Order Entry team.
  • Coordinate with clients and internal teams (field supervisors and engineers) to execute field technical work and engineering designs.
  • Track and manage project costs. Strive to meet project profitability goals and track operational issues that affect profitability.
  • Manage customer satisfaction issues.
  • Generate change orders, invoicing requests, requests for information, and other project documentation.
  • Manage paper and digital project records.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to execute projects. PM may need to help identify and vet new subcontractors.
  • Periodically visit project sites for larger projects and meet face-to-face with clients.
  • Work with technical supervisor to confirm that field personnel have proper operator qualifications (OQ), meet drug testing, background check, and technical certifications required for specific contracts.
  • Directly or indirectly supervise the technical services field team and technical services project coordinator.
  • Assist in identifying and hiring new employees.
  • Manage career advancement, compensation adjustments and disciplinary actions for field services team members.

Qualifications

  • Communication and customer advocacy is key to success in this role. The successful candidate will exhibit outstanding communication skills and will have a proven record of customer satisfaction.
  • Must have at least five years’ experience in project management.
  • Experience in technical project management is required.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft 365 suite, namely MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Must be able to learn third-party cloud-based software.
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
  • 10% to 15% travel will be required.
  • Weekend availability

Highly Desired:

  • Field/Industry experience in cathodic protection
  • AMPP Certification is a strong plus.
  • Applicable degree in a technical or business field is a strong plus.
  • Located in Guthrie, OK or surrounding area
