"In the late 1980s, a small group of Michigan engineering and business school faculty members met several times to discuss how we might create a joint program with industry that engaged faculty, students and industrial partners in team-based opportunities that added significant value to sponsoring companies and provided rich learning experiences for our students. Those of us who participated in those early conversations can only marvel at how far we have come with the help of many benefactors, University and industrial leaders, and of course, Joel Tauber."
