Global Product Integrity Manager of Howmet Aerospace joins Tauber Industry Advisory Board

Ann Arbor, MI - The Tauber Institute proudly welcomes our newest Industry Advisory Board member, Jaskirat Sohi, Global Product Integrity Manager, Howmet Wheel Systems – Howmet Aerospace Inc.

Howmet Aerospace is a company of innovators and makers. A leading global provider of advanced engineering solutions transforming the future of flying and driving. Howmet's products are used from nose to tail on commercial and defense aircraft, while forged aluminum wheels are the leading choice for commercial vehicles.

Jaskirat joined Howmet in 2006 as Applied Technology Manager, leading the Research and Development programs. He has held roles of increasing responsibilities, leading the global program management team to launch new products and the global engineering team to develop new products and technologies. In 2019, he took on the role of Global Product Integrity Manager, leading the product validation and field performance organization. He has led significant improvements in improving product designs and manufacturing processes based on product performance utilizing data analytics. His expertise includes New Product Strategy and R&D pipeline development, Program Management, Process improvement, and Talent Development.

Jaskirat holds an MBA from Case Western Reserve University as a Tauber Alumni with a Master's in manufacturing engineering from the University of Michigan and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology. He is a member of the Society of Automobiles (SAE) committee on Truck & Bus and the European Union Wheel Association (EUWA). He is originally from India and resides in Cleveland, Ohio, with his wife and two daughters. 

The Tauber Institute brings together graduate students from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business and College of Engineering to gain operations expertise and leadership skills, then work together at sponsoring companies around the world, tackling diverse operations challenges in industries such as aerospace, energy, internet commerce, automotive manufacturing, tech, and healthcare. In dozens of collaborative projects with industry each year, the Tauber Institute applies cutting-edge operations theory to real-world problems, saving sponsoring companies millions of dollars through increased efficiency and waste reduction and often simultaneously improving working conditions and reducing environmental impact.

Input from the Industry Advisory Board ensures that the Tauber Institute stays at the forefront of operations education and responds quickly to industry needs. The board meets twice a year with Tauber Institute leadership and represents a diverse group of organizations. Offering guidance consistent with the program's mission and objectives, the Industry Advisory Board actively assists the Tauber Institute in achieving its academic and research goals through industry leadership, cooperation, feedback, and acquisition of financial support.
