The University of Michigan Tauber Institute for Global Operations hosts the annual Leadership Forum to provide Tauber students with opportunities to learn directly from current leaders in Operations from top global firms.

A panel discussion offers Tauber students insights about managing the complex fields such as Aerospace, Energy, Technology, and Big-Box Retail, while striving to employ sustainable practices in a rapidly evolving business landscape. The focus of the 2019 Forum is Automation / Machine learning.

• Kim Vogel - Strategic Accounts Director of the Great Lakes Region at Microsoft - Kim joined Microsoft in 2011 and is the global business director, where she works with a team to help customers in leveraging technology to transform their products, engage more customers, and optimize their operations, technologies leveraged include artificial intelligence, internet of things, and big data. Prior to joining Microsoft, Kim was Global Account Executive for Hewlett-Packard. She received a BA in Economics and Accounting from the University of Michigan.
• Doug Mehl - Partner at A.T. Kearney - Doug joined A.T. Kearney in 2015 and is a partner in the Automotive and Industrial Practice, where he services clients for strategy and operations improvement. Prior to joining A.T. Kearney, Doug had worked for McKinsey and Company, a management consulting firm. He received his MBA from the University of Michigan and his BSE/MSE in Mechanical Engineering from the Ohio State University.
• Leslie Hardin - Lead of On-Campus Recruiting at American Industrial Partners - Leslie has worked with American Industrial Partners since 2010, in which she has served as the PE advisor, overseeing operation, development, organization structure, and portfolio management, as well as the Chief Administrative Officer of the PE firm. Before working for American Industrial Partners, Leslie worked as an Investment Banker for Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan. She has received her MBA from Yale as well as her JD and BS in Business Administration from UC Berkeley.
• Lisa Strama - President and CEO at National Center for Manufacturing Sciences - Lisa was made the CEO at the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences in September of 2018, where they work to improve the competitiveness and strength of the United States’ industrial base through developing, demonstrating and transitioning innovative technologies efficiently. Before working at the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences, Lisa worked for Northrop Grumman as a director in Manufacturing Operations and Enterprise Design Environment. She received her MBA from DePaul University.
• Michael Mikula - Chief Engineer of Advanced Manufacturing at Ford - Michael joined Ford in 1993 and is the Global Chief Engineer for Manufacturing System and Infrastructure, where he is responsible for facility readiness and machine logic for new model programs. He is also in charge of operational oversight for North America, Prototype Operations, and Engine Testing Facilities. He received his BS and MS in Metallurgical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
