Before the Tauber Institute for Global Operations, Theresa held the position of Workforce and Continuing Education Director for Business and IT at Macomb Community College, where her program managed a $5 million grant to help grow and develop the defense and homeland security industry in Michigan. The program provided technical training to residents to enter the defense industry workforce in positions such as logistics, engineering, and advanced technology. Her department also managed the HealthIT program to prepare students to take the national Registered Health Information Technician accreditation exam. She's also held the position of conference manager for the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, engineering and IT non-credit manager for the University of Michigan-Dearborn, and business development manager for the Advanced Electric Vehicle Program at the University of Detroit-Mercy.

Theresa also worked for Gannett Co. Inc., specifically the USA Today circulation office, as a blue chip account manager in markets around the U.S. While at Gannett, she held various operations and sales positions of increasing responsibility in customer service, product development, retail, national advertising, new media, and circulation for The Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News. She held the first new media supervisor position and helped launch Freep and Detnews.com.

A first-generation college student, Theresa holds a doctorate in communication from Wayne State University, where she studied organizational communication and marketing. She received a Master of Arts in Public Relations from Wayne State University and earned her undergraduate degree in Communications from Michigan State University. She has earned the Michigan Ross Distinguished Leader Executive Certificate. She is a proud Michigan mom.
