John J. McGill, 59, retired from BorgWarner in 2012 after over 32 years in the auto industry. Most recently, McGill served as BorgWarner’s vice president of Global Supply Chain and the executive champion for Emerging Markets. Previously he had been president of the company’s TorqTransfer business unit. He joined BorgWarner through an acquisition and served as president and general manager of the newly created, Cooling System’s Division from October 1999 to December 2002.
Prior to joining BorgWarner, McGill was general manager of Eaton’s Fluid Power and Torque Control Products divisions. His 18-year Eaton career included numerous human resource, materials and manufacturing positions. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska.
Currently, he travels throughout Central America and the Appalachian region of the United States building homes, churches, and schools for each nation’s poorest residents.
