Created in 1993 as a partnership between industry and the University of Michigan, the Tauber Institute is answering the call for a new kind of leader. These leaders must demonstrate an expert ability to guide their companies through diverse changes in business, while still possessing a keen understanding of the technical aspects of production. The Tauber Institute identifies the best and brightest operations professionals early on in their careers and provides them with the skills and training they need to become truly outstanding business leaders for tomorrow.

The Tauber Institute balances the benefits of a multidisciplinary education with the expertise and insights of industry experience. We believe that education and industry must evolve together to make complete operations professionals. From the University of Michigan, the Tauber Institute draws on the strong resources of its top-ranked College of Engineering and the Ross School of Business to provide a superior multidisciplinary education. And to stay ahead of industry trends and capture key insights from the field, the Tauber Institute regularly taps leading executives to serve on its Industry Advisory Board. The Industry Advisory Board meets regularly to provide the Tauber Institute with guidance and insure that its programs are directly applicable to the current needs of global firms.

Students must first be admitted to the Ross School of Business or the College of Engineering before they can be considered for admission to the Tauber Institute.
