Corporate Partners

Cooperation with industry is a key objective in the Tauber Institute's mission. Our goal is to provide students with superb educational experiences that are directly related to the current needs of industry. The Tauber Institute receives feedback from industry through two main avenues. First, our 30-member Industry Advisory Board draws on the expertise of leading executives from around the country. Second, our Team Project cycle provides a constant in-flow of relevant operations-related problems and solicits cooperation with a wide variety of companies.

Why the Tauber Institute?

Undoubtedly, the nature of operations and manufacturing has changed. Within the last decade, technology and business have evolved dramatically, and the challenges for industry have been rewritten. Global competition, more demanding consumer markets and increasingly complex business relationships now require a new kind of professional—a leader who understands the technical details of operations and can relate these factors to the competitive environment of business.

The Tauber Institute builds these special individuals and gives them the leadership skills to succeed. Combining the resources of the top-ranked College of Engineering with the world-class resources of the School of Business, the Tauber Institute develops managers with relevant skills and work-ready expertise. All Tauber students graduate with a solid understanding of engineering and business, substantive work experience on at least one multidisciplinary operations-related project, and key leadership and teamwork skills to help incorporate the talents of others.

Companies partnering with the Tauber Institute benefit from:

  • Strong value-added results from Team Projects
  • Enhanced recruiting activities with graduates from the Ross School of Business and College of Engineering
  • Expanded visibility among a very talented group of recruits
  • A multidisciplinary education designed specifically for operations and manufacturing professionals
